Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Answer Anywhere ("we", "us", "our") and the cloud-based VoIP phone services we provide. By signing up and using our service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

Answer Anywhere provides cloud-based VoIP telephone services including dedicated business phone numbers, auto-attendant systems, voicemail, call routing, and related features. Services are provided on a month-to-month subscription basis.

2. Important: Emergency Services (911) Limitations

Answer Anywhere does NOT support 911 or emergency services calls. Our VoIP service is not a replacement for traditional telephone service and cannot be used to contact emergency services.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Answer Anywhere does not provide access to 911 emergency services
  • You must maintain a separate means of accessing emergency services (such as a traditional landline or mobile phone) at all times
  • Answer Anywhere shall not be held liable for any inability to contact emergency services through our platform
  • You will inform all users of your Answer Anywhere system of this limitation

By using our service, you expressly acknowledge this limitation and accept full responsibility for maintaining alternative means of reaching emergency services.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

Our plans are designed for normal small business use. You agree not to use our service in any manner that:

  • Exceeds reasonable usage patterns for a small business (defined as excessive call volumes consistent with call center or automated dialing operations on a Starter or Business plan)
  • Involves automated calling, robocalling, predictive dialing, or any form of unsolicited bulk calling
  • Is used for telemarketing, spam, or harassment
  • Violates any applicable Canadian or US telecommunications laws and regulations
  • Resells or sublicenses our service to third parties without prior written agreement
  • Involves abnormally high call volumes that place disproportionate load on our shared infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service immediately and without refund if we determine, at our sole discretion, that your usage exceeds normal small business patterns or violates this Acceptable Use Policy. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before suspension except where immediate action is required to protect our infrastructure or other customers.

4. Service Availability and Uptime

We strive to provide reliable, uninterrupted service but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. Our service may be affected by:

  • Scheduled maintenance (we will provide advance notice where possible)
  • Unplanned outages affecting our hosting infrastructure
  • Outages affecting upstream providers including VoIP carriers and internet service providers
  • Force majeure events including natural disasters, power outages, and other circumstances beyond our control

Answer Anywhere shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or costs arising from service interruptions or outages, regardless of cause. You acknowledge that VoIP services are inherently dependent on internet connectivity and that we cannot guarantee call quality or availability in all circumstances.

5. Billing and Payment

Services are billed monthly in advance. By providing payment information you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. You agree that:

  • All fees are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law
  • Failed payments may result in service suspension after a grace period
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days written notice
  • White-glove change requests are billed at $59 per change, confirmed before work begins

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the client support portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months. Upon cancellation your phone number will be released back to available inventory unless number porting has been arranged.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Answer Anywhere shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages including but not limited to:

  • Loss of business, revenue, or profits resulting from service interruptions
  • Missed calls or voicemails due to technical issues
  • Any inability to reach emergency services through our platform
  • Data loss or corruption

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of our service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify existing customers of material changes via email with at least 14 days notice. Continued use of our service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
